New seasons bring new ideas- and maybe time to think in new ways? June Dawson writes in the July/August UC Observer that "if we are a church full of old people - as we are - let us be elders not just in age, but in our shared pursuit of outrageous, radical wisdom. Let's be elders who welcome the toughest, deepest, grittiest questions, who... honestly speak truth to power." That could be the motto of the Thursday group, the heretics! Come join us! Sept.14 "What is Heresy?"- we will be discussing a paper written by Anne Squire on that topic, one she wrote when that name was first starting to be considered by the group. (led by Areta Crowell) Sept.21 The Emerging Christian Way: "Radical Inclusion" by Anne Squire (led by Joyce White & Carol Scott) Sept.28 Theologies of the World (Questionaire is available here) (led by Catherine Gutjahr) Oct.
