Partnership

Emmanuel United Church has been deeply enriched by its 20-year partnership with Iglesia Bautista Emmanuel (Emmanuel Baptist Church) in San Salvador, El Salvador. This partnership has given over 70 of our members opportunities to learn about the issues facing Salvadoran people, to work side-by-side constructing houses for the poor, to witness how IBE ministers to many communities in that country, to worship and give testimonials together, to contribute to the education of youth there, to host Salvadoran youth from IBE here in Canada, and to form long-lasting friendships with members of our sister church. As we renew our partnership, Pastor Miguel Tomas Castro has identified three priority areas for our prayerful consideration: education, working with youth and carrying the good news of the Gospel to outlying communities, through opportunities to participate in service learning projects and build houses with our brothers and sisters in Christ in El Salvador.
